Vol, a sixth generation Texan and a member of the “Sons of the Republic of Texas”, attended Llano High School where he was the salutatorian for his graduating class in 1980. Vol then graduated Cum Laude from Texas A & M University with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering. In 1988 he founded SabreData, Inc., a network integration company corporately headquartered in Austin, Texas. Vol was named High-Tech Entrepreneur of the Year for Austin and the Southwest Region in1994 and also in 1994 he was selected for the prestigious Inc. 500 award celebrating the fastest growing privately held companies in America. In 1999, Sabredata, Inc. was acquired by publicly held Kent Electronics where Vol then lead over 750 employees and 30+ branch offices nationwide. Vol retired from the tech industry in 2001.

Vol now owns and operates Reveille Peak Ranch which is a 1300+ acre facility in Burnet, Texas that focuses on outdoor events, scouting programs, children’s outdoor education, veterans and the support of our military and law enforcement. Vol founded Serve Who Serve, a non-profit whose mission is “committed to serving the men and women who have sacrificed to protect our homeland and communities and to serving the future of our Country, our youth.” In 2012 Vol helped found the Upper Highland Lakes Nature Center, a 501(c)3 located at Reveille Peak Ranch, that focuses on nature based outdoor education.

In 2013 Vol served on the inaugural Citizen’s Academy for the Texas Department of Public Safety, Region 7, Capitol Complex. Vol created an annual event in 2014, Reveille Call, which has a mission “To reinforce the founding principles, that patriotism, exceptionalism and love of country are vital for our future.” In 2015 Vol served on the inaugural Game Warden Citizen’s Academy for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. From 2015 to present, he has served on the Training Advisory Board for the Office of the Attorney General’s Office for the State of Texas.

In 2016 he founded Team Texas USA, an initiative under Serve Who Serve. The vision of Team Texas USA is “To build a team of patriots in the public and private sector to create for the state of Texas and a model for all states, an organization that fosters interagency operability and the use of new technology to help law enforcement agencies defend the citizens of our country against domestic and foreign threats on our homeland.”

Vol continues to be focused on the things he loves, his family, his Country and all things outdoors.
